The Mesopotamians divided up time with a sixty second minute and a sixty minute hour, both of which are still in use today. The Mesopotamians also had a wide knowledge of mathematics including, but not limited to, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions, which we currently use.
The Mesopotamians' mathematical knowledge, the Mesopotamians were able to follow the movement of the stars, planets, and the moon. One of their major achievements in this field was their ability to predict the movements of several planets. After studying the phases of the moon, the Mesopotamians were able to create the first calendar, which had twelve lunar months and was a predecessor for both the Jewish and Greek calendars.
